just in, donaire will be fighting former super fly champion cristian mijares instead of arce in july... this is the same mijares who defeated jorge easily but got ko'd by nonito victim vic darchinyan.

The stakes got higher for Nonito Donaire (29-1-0, 18KOs) and Toshiaki Nishioka (39-4-3, 24KOs) after World Boxing Council decided to sanction their showdown for the vacant WBC super bantamweight Diamond Belt, a report from Boxing Scene confirmed.
Aside from the WBC Diamond Belt, Donaire's World Boxing Organization and International Boxing Federation super bantamweight weight titles and the Ring Magazine title will also be at stake in his upcoming fight against Nishioka on October 13 at the Home Depot Center in California.
