WEEEE E-VAAT. An idea she just copied from the GST and VAT regimes already existing in other countries for almost a decade. But the problem is, in the Philippines the VAT is 12% whereas elsewhere it is only 10%. So a poor country that cannot afford it, is taxed higher... I wonder why, is it because black caviar and champagne are expensive? Ok, maybe that was a cheap shot, but deserved in my opinion...

The consequences of EVAT negates the very essence of why it was put in place. Weren't we told then by its proponents and advocates that proceeds will be used to shore up social services and alleviate the quality of lives of the people? Why now has it become more of a burden to the common tao? Think oil pump prices, canned sardines, instant noodles and other basic commodities. Part of what you pay for it is EVAT.

And the biggest businessmen of our land are laughing at how people scream at the government while, they, just like our politicians are sucking the blood out of our people dry. Of course without the nuisance of being bugged by rallies here and there.
