Tomas medyo pala-away lately but this thread was never about Tomas to start with.

Nobody is saying that Tita Gwen is not doing her job but for me, with all the resources and funds capitol "supposedly" have plus she is on the good side of the president, SHE HAS NOT DONE ENOUGH.

Ever since, ang issue ra gyud nako aning Gwen nga di gyud ma tuldokan are the following:
1] STILL has no decent hospitals in the province as the previous posters claim.
2] CICC quality of construction does not justify the cost thus talks refuse to die down EVEN with the presentation of the so called documents.
    3] Unsystematic and dirty capitol.
4] Road projects are national projects and NOT provincial projects. Just like what Nerissa is doing with the Canduman bridge.
5] No major legacy that can be left to the Cebuanos, only petty projects like suroy2x
6] a sucker for media mileage and undue recognition.
7] drugs and gambling in the province are still prevalent and even financed by the mayors themselves.
8] poor law enforcement and facilities in the province.
9] the province's special interest in province owned lots in the city, when there are more to be done in the province. there is nothing wrong with this but why all of a sudden and why just now?
10] influence peddling in capitol over land deals.
11] the capitol or the garcia's meddling with the SRP
12] Gwen's association with OBVIOUSLY corrupt city mayors under the jurisdiction of the province and doing nothing about it.

The list can go on and on...

Di man siguro nato masulti nga di ni tinuod ug valid nga mga issues pero hangtod karon wa gihapon konkretong tubag ug visible action, at least for an informed and educated Cebuano's point of view.

BTW, whatever happened to PJ's congressional inquiry on the SRP? Na kaso na ni sa korte? or wala gihapon as expected?

as the saying goes, "Nobody can please everybody".

Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something...

wala pay decent provincial hospital but padung na. they will be completing the construction of two provincial hospitals in Carcar and Danao and the devolution of the Balamban District Hospital and the Bogo District Hospital.

and I dunno if u also refer to the North and South Gen hospital as not decent enough.

and why put focus on hospitals only? there are other concerns related to health. an example is that the province has enrolled with Philhealth over 103,000 indigent families.

if u say the CICC construction doesn't justify the cost, is only a matter of your own opinion, speculative, prejudicial, and no verifiable facts to prove it.

well, that comment is quite subjective. looking at the facade, the sides, and back says otherwise. and u can compare that to the dirty back portion of Cebu City hall. i also went there last week and didn't see any dirty places inside the Capitol that says significantly it is dirty. but don't get me wrong. I'm not saying they should not improve.

not all provincial road projects are national projects. and even if there's a national project, why spend from internal funds when you can get funding from the national level? mao btaw gitawag na ug national project. u mean the credit? op kors u can credit it to Gwen. dili baya sayon mo lobby ug nationally funded project para sa imung probincya.

now, in terms of roads and asphalted, the province has asphalted 534 kilometers of provincial roads and concreted 81.67 kilometers of barangay roads. and not only that, the province also completed 217 school buildings, or an equivalent of 434 badly needed classrooms. The province also completed 22 level III water projects and will be completing 15 more within a year.

depends on how u see it and which side of the coin u r.

we have to give credit where it is due.

“In fact far from being a debtor, we have become a total opposite – the Province of Cebu has officially become a creditor, as we have opened credit facilities to local government units in the province to finance worthwhile and revenue-generating projects,” Garcia said.

HAWOD SA AGI, BUT DILI HAWOD SA BATASAN...

that's a matter of concern for the PNP hierarchy, the ombudsman and the LGU's. all the things happening in the province cannot be totally blamed on the governor.

at least ni improve and general standing sa Province in terms of law enforcement. as to facilities, what Gwen accomplished in only a few years span is beyond compare to what her previous predecessors did during each of their terms.

taking back province-owned lots from the city should not only be viewed as a political exercise only but on the bigger angle a move for the benefit of the constituents. as we all knew, for many years, squatters have been occupying the lots, to the disadvantage of its constituents in the Province.

and it did not only happen now... Gov. Garcia, firm in her thrust to recover all provincial properties, created the CEBU PROVINCIAL REAL PROPERTIES PROTECTION TASK FORCE last April 4, 2005.

it still remains an allegation up to now...

they have the right too as taxpaying Cebuanos.

Affiliation to a political party is a different matter. Fight against corruption is another. we have the ombusdman, the COA and the police to address it, and not only the governor herself. if i'm not mistaken, Gwen (or Capitol) recently filed a case against Loot and Shimura. and i think against Tudela Mayor Rogelio Baquerfo Sr. too.

and that in fact, disproves your theory that she "obviously" wasn't doing about it.

and not only is she filing cases against local officials, she even went out of her way to file complaints against that Bantayan bikini open organizers, and most recently against the Big 3 for predatory pricing and cartel-like behaviour.

    SHE HAS NOT DONE ENOUGH.
She may have not done enough but she has done a lot. Mao nay giingon nga the reward for doing hard work is more hard work.

2] CICC quality of construction does not justify the cost thus talks refuse to die down EVEN with the presentation of the so called documents.
Di gyud mo die down na nga issue bro kay dunay mga tawo pareho nimo nga di moundang ug komentaryo though they are not the authority to say so. Ug moingon ka nga licensed structural engineer ka or architect ka and you are part of the team when it was built, di ko makiglalis nimo kay you know what you are saying.

    3] Unsystematic and dirty capitol.
Agree ko nimo ini, puntos bro. But this leaves a lot of room to improve. Maayo imong gi brought up ni.

4] Road projects are national projects and NOT provincial projects. Just like what Nerissa is doing with the Canduman bridge.
You are somewhat correct. And this is what counts most when you are a politician.
Bag-o lang ko nakasulod diha sa Aloguinsan lusot ngadto Mantalongon, Barili and I would say the sown seeds of having good relationship with the President bears fruit. Gisugdan na ug trabaho (concreting) diha ang guba nga dan and I would say kung mahuman, kumingking ang transcentral highway. Ang importante nga bisan ug national government project but dunay mo follow up nga LGU.

5] No major legacy that can be left to the Cebuanos, only petty projects like suroy2x
Abot gud siya ana ug Manila just to follow up.

11] the capitol or the garcia's meddling with the SRP
Ahh mao niy nakapasakit nimo diay. Good.

BTW, whatever happened to PJ's congressional inquiry on the SRP? Na kaso na ni sa korte? or wala gihapon as expected?
Huwat lang, Pablo John is mapping out his strategy, ug madinumtanon si Tomas, tabangan siya sa mga Garcia! We'll see soon kay looy dyud na imong manuk ug masugdan na ug kaigu sa syapol sa mga Garcia.

Calling Mr. Winston Garcia, The Lopezes worst nightmare!

Please investigate Meralco about System loss being charge to their consumer.
We have noticed that our Village in Manila is paying P50,000.00/month for street lights and we have also noticed that there is no meter for that street lights. We suspected that even though we are paying P50,000.00/month, they (meralco) have double charged us via System loss. I mean since there is no meter for that, it means that the power being consumed by street lamp is also added to system loss in our area. Which might result in additional P50,000.00+ worth of system loss to be charged to their consumer in the area.

    Thanks.

    @godwhacker:

1] I am in the position to comment on CICC because that is my professional opinion.

This may be just a speculation to for now, specially to you but it is surely a very valid one. Are you telling me the Garcias are meddling with SRP for the benefit of the Cebuanos just out of the goodness of their hearts?
