Arouse the kid's curiosity.
If I had a kid I would take him/her out on various walks (kids are naturally curious about their environment), particularly in provinces where there are lots of greeneries. We would both climb trees together. We would stargaze at night and travel in buses and planes and boats. I would show him/her the different kinds of trees and animals. I would limit television. Give her/him audio books and books. I would insist that he/she learn English but should not be ignorant with Cebuano nor Tagalog. I would show him/her that people come from different walks of life. He/she should be able to comfortably carry a conversation with a fisherman just as well as with a CEO of a company. We would have reading sessions, singing sessions, goofing around sessions. We would plant a tree.
i disagreehehe with the gatas part. children 1 year + dont need a whole lot of milk any more than adults do.
para ma-smart ang bata, you should engage them in conversation para sa mga preschoolers.. and let them read books, maski wala pay 1 year old, ipa expose ug books..
it's GENETICS. send your kids to school sure they can learn something. smart kids most of the time have smart parents...AGAIN..ITS GENETICS. huhuhu. if they don't have smart parents study harder nalang.
hmm genetics plays a role but mulabaw gyud ang kung gi-unsa pagdako ang bata. so, to make them smarter, the parents dont have to be smart.. just proactive. NURTURE more than NATURE.
.. as for my son syvy. Since he was inside the womb, we made sure that he gets his nutrition properly, well, by taking good care of the mother's diet and health.
.. when he was still a baby, every multi vitamins and supplements that our pediatrician recommends we gave him. And the best ( this depends on your source, hehehe ) milk available on our market today, as for syvy's case, it was Enfalac.. then Enfapro, then Enfagrow, then lactum 3+ and now he's on lactum 6+.
.. cerebrally, i feed him music, music everyday, Steve Vai, Dream Theater, all the progressive bands that i listen to i let him listen. We never did teach him how to read, the first word that he read was CALTEX, he was two years old then. Gradually, i type in random words using microsoft word using the largest font. He then slowly reads them and slowly and give him difficult words. I never encouraged him to read books, but he himself endulged into books.
.. are there any more parents here to pitch in to how they took care of their children ??
let them explore both in and out dli kay sa four walls lng sa room
