mao jd ni na mga lense akong gdamgo-damgohan. hahahaha some sell theirs but the usage k 2yrs na btaw...dn pila lng ang diff..palit nln kaha bago. hehehehe

24-105 gets my vote; sooner or later, you will need to go longer; and -depending on what you want to shoot/like to shoot, or by circumstance - you'll find it better to zoom-in instead of going closer. and as markyap said, the IS will be a great advantage.

I try this two lenses
my first lens is 24-70, when my body is a 1.6 crop so medyo okay ko sa combination between my lens and the body, when i upgraded to full frame body medyo ilang ko sa combination sa 24 70 and my 5d so i change to 24 105 lens ang im much more satisfied sa ako ra ni ha

i know this is not perfect.. naa may mo ingon na mas nindot gyud ang 24 70 naa sab mo ingon na mas nice ang 24 105 pero sa ako mas ganahan ko sa 24 105 in a full frame body opinion ko lang

both are really good when used with a full frame camera. 5D or 5D2 / 1D / 1Ds. not very versatile on crop bodies. since 24mm x 1.6 = 38.4mm, apiki kaau ang wide part.

24-105 IS = if you want more range or a little bit of "one lens solution" (wide to telephoto), and this one's light weight.

24-70 2.8 = if f4 is not enough coz f4 is really not enough LOL. heavy (yes, admit nako karon nga bug-at bisan ga workout ko LOL). most of 24-70 users believes than the best ZOOM is the photographer's legs. so 105mm is just 1-2 full steps away. hehehe...

The best times to get this lens in the US is a day after the Thanksgiving and from May 3, 2009 to July 11, 2009 because of the instant rebate.

maayo man diay ning mangukay ta sa archive nga mga thread kay naa mga pangutana sa kinabuhi nga di ma tubag sa page 1 & 2.. hehehehe...

na lingaw kog basa ani... and it helped me a lot in deciding w/c one to buy... (pero di pa karon ha, in the near future wahehehehe)
