.. my son is living proof that rock music is very good for the baby. Im a steve vai obsessed person, so i named my son SYVY. While he was still in the womb. I let him listen to all the progressive stuff i have, from dream theater, joe satriani, megadeth, Liquid tension experiment, black light syndrome and of course steve vai. When he came out, it was the time when Joe Satriani live in San Francisco and Steve Vai live in Astoria DVDs came out, those were his lullaby, i hold him in my arms, sleeping and Satriani or Vai in his ears. Using my Bose 301 speakers. When he got older, he got hold of the Dream Theater Scenes From a Memory DVD, now this was the time when he started to, transcribe ( hehehe ) the songs of DT. Believe it or not, my son has memorized and can hum either the bassline or drumline or guitar riffs and even the vocal melodies of that album. And he was only 4 years old at that time.
.. Glassmoon can atest to this when he saw my son holding his guitar and doing some spider fingers on the fret. It was so fun to look at.
.. and the choice of music of my son is always progressive. Whenever we go around town and he hears something that's not to his taste, he always change the cd and says STEVE VAI DADDY... I WANT DREAM THEATER DADDY .... in my hard drive, i have tons of cartoons, Bugs Bunny, Mulan, SpongeBob but he always prefer and watch the Steve Vai concerts, Mike Portnoy and Petrucci instruction videos
.. now, my son's addiction is listening to Batman Returns Soundtrack by Danny Elfman. He is always humming a tune and damn, he knows all the title of every song of every progressive band i listen to.
.. damn, i love my son, ehehehe
