1. Mag-test sa ko bai kung RAM ba jud ang guba.
2. Kibaw ko ana bai. Before ko nag-format, nag-burn ko og bag-o nga XP sa PowerISO kay nawa akong XP.

I just thought you could help me with my problem.

Here are my specs:

Mobo: Asus P5VD1-X
Processor: Pentium D 2.80 GHz
RAM: 2 x 512MB DDR400
Video Card: 256MB GeForce 5500 (before)
Video Card: 1GB Inno3D 9600GT (after)
Heatsink: CoolerMaster (forgot the model)
PSU: Dynamo 550W

Here's what happened like 4 days ago... I went home from work, then I turned on my PC. I was browsing and stuff, then my screen went totally static... Didn't have any choice, but to restart my PC and so I did. After like 10 minutes, it freezes again, so I thought it was kind of like a virus 'cause I had encounter that kind of behavior before. Then I started transferring my files to my other drives and I also pulled my DVD-R/+Rs off my closet and started burning my files.

After I had all my files backed up, I inserted my XP CD, did a boot priority in BIOS, formatted my drive C, then the XP installation hangs after file copying stage. I did it a couple of times and still it didn't pushed throughout the installation.

Then I noticed that my VGA memory changes.. it changes from 256MB to 128MB and I was like, "I think I really need a new video card". I was planning on getting a new one anyway, so I went to Gaisano-Interpace (Banilad) yesterday and bought a new card (1GB Inno3D 9600GT).

I can't say that my new card is not compatible with my motherboard 'cause I checked it first on the internet and here >>> CAN I PLAY ULTRA HIGH SETTINGS FOR CRYSIS WITH NVIDA 9500 GT 1GB DDR2 VGA CARD? - Yahoo! Answers

So... I installed my new card on my board, worked on the same steps on installing XP........ and it freezes again.

I checked on my BIOS and I saw a red mark on the 3.3 V. Never seen it before I believe.

Could it be my motherboard/PSU/HDD that's causing the problem? Please help me.

By the way, I've tried switching operating system CDs (2 XP's) and DVD (1 Vista), but still had the same problem.

bro pila na ka years imo hardrive, basin duna problema imo hardrive, try ug replace imo ide cable, try sad ug puli ang cd sa windows xp, kun mo hang gihapon duna problema imo hardrive

try isolation ,replace ur HDD if not the CD/DVD ROM.....

Wa na ko extra PSU. Nahatag na nako.

Kalimot na ko bro kung pila. June 2006 pa man ni nako gipalit gud. Wa na man tingali to nga model karon. Oo, AGP ug PCI-E.

Common kaayo ni nga problem sa ram, even if its defective mo run gihapon.. unstable lang..

Ang guba sa ako kay PSU, so I replaced it with 500W CoolerMaster.
Di na ko mosalig sa mga generice brands. Hehe
I'm thankful way nadaot lain.
