Why mourn a useless politician?

i like this topic honestly... But people tend to be very emotional.. maybe it's because Tita Cory recently just passed away.

Imagine Philippines without Cory?!?! Imagine Philippines still under Imelda Marcos (since Ferdinan Marcos died.) I wonder how our economy will be?! I wonder how many shoes Imelda will have up to today if she is in power? I wonder how may trillion of dollars Philippines will owe to the world bank? I wonder how many people will be murdered every day because they are againts martial law.

I banned the TS. I gave her prior warning NOT to hurl insults, yet she continued to do so. As for the rest of you, you're not doing any good trying to "ride on" this thread. What you're all doing is even MORE disrespectful to Cory. By doing this, and encouraging everyone else to ride on, you're no different than the T/S.

one more thing, there is nothing to compare between gloria and cory both became presidents at different times in our history, facing two different situations that have tested our unity as Filipinos and how strong we are to withstand every trials that all of us are facing politically and financially....

Because it proved that with true democracy, even an educated housewife can be a President.

you should read your history. during martial law, the military was heavily favored by the marcos' government. they were allowed to do as they please. killing "suspected enemies" of the state, torturing prisoners, name it they can do it.

But when Cory became President, the power was given back to the people. The military budget was also cut, generals identified with the former president Marcos were all forced to retire. Obviously, the military didn't like this so they thought of trying to grab the seat of power through 9 coup d'etat that failed miserably.

i really dont compare Cory and GMA since i think they are both good presidents and did their job well in each of their own time.

Why mourn Cory? because she was our leader back in 1986 against marcos which gave us our freedom and showed the world what Democracy really means, if you think thats useless...

I think the motive of TS is not really to know something but to provoke our sensibility ... the best that everyone should have done was to ignore her provocations ... daghan man mi sud sa iyang banga .. mao nga na popular nuon ni ... by the mere fact that she, or she could be a he (which I think kathy is...), called a former president, loved by many a "bitch" was already a suspect ... this thread should have been locked at the very onset ... so much for the arrogance of this TS...
