there's no need to compare both of them kay they have many things offered to the country...
Cory's time was different.
Cory's administration had to regain a lot of the democratic process, since the last change of power was way back 1965 when Marcos won over Macapagal. They were struggling not only economically but also politically since the military lost the favors once handed to them by the former dicatator.
The question back then was how would it be possible to regain everything that was lost during the 20 years of corruption via the dictatorship?
At the end of her term, Cory was being invited by several groups to run again during the end of her term. She was after all a revolutionary president under the 1975 constitution. She declined stating that the change of power will regain the trust of the people to the democratic process.
In fact, even in death, the Aquino family refused a state funeral.
Cory = passionate but never a good president.
Gloria = small but smart. i'd say give her all the money she want, drag us out of this economic hell.
cory = makes me proud to be a filipino
glory = ashamed that i voted for her
A.cory = supported by the people , disliked by the rightist military ( 7 coup d'etat in her 6 years)
B.marcos = disliked by the people , supported by the military ( martial law, etch..)
C.gloria = disliked by the people , supported by the military (especially the generals - retired generals get the top government post)
from above:
A is different from B and C
B is somewhat similar from C
so B and C must be the apple and apple comparison..
also another thing, both were very smart and intelligent.
both cheat in the elections ( hello garci....)
both want some term extension
both have hubbies who's more interested on more money! (imelda- shoes, jewelry and shopping, FG - macapagal boulevard, fertilizer scam, and many more)
i think cory and gloria both lived in a different time with a different problem and issues to tackle. it would be best, if gloria would be in cory's shoes in the late 1980's, would she do the same? bigger question is, is gloria's husband even an iconic man to start with or more of a chismiss man. lol
neweys, everyone is entitled to shout what they want, that was what corry started, democracy, for the people, so we should just understand what the writer says or just shut up if we are against it, but it would be good to hear what other say about the writers article, but hopefully not to get mad and aloud.
