Like Gwyn said, I'm married to an American too. I'm not ashamed to admit that I married him for the wrong reason, and some of our members here know what that is. Anyways, coming to the US? Believe me, after a year in the marriage naapprove akong immigrant visa with my kuya. Which I call, pineste. Pero, wala naman ko mahimo. So basically, ang reason sa ako mom ngano gipugos ko niya ug minyo dili tungod makaari ko kay makaari man gyud gihapon ko, awa lang, 1 year lang approved na unta ako immigrant visa. I think her reason is, gusto niya makasigurado nga maminyo ko ug tarong ba. Wala siya salig naku. We didn't grow up with her man gud. Siya lang ni assume sa responsibility pa eskwela namo since my dad died 2nd year college ko. So, wala gyud siya kaila namo. And one thing for sure, she let me marry my husband in her realm of standard. So... ang qualification swak sa iyang standard ba. Kay ako mama ambisyosa man gyud kaayo, siya ang ambisyosa and materialistic, gusto gyud siya sobraan siya madatu pero dili niya maachieve kay gastador man kaayo. Pero ako, I didn't mind mediocre lang financially basta lang happy. Yeap I got regrets baya, pero nakaanak man gud mi sa ako husband and maluoy ko sa akong mga babies kay suod kaayo sa ila daddy.

We are a product of a variety of foreign mixing. So dili ta maghinilas kay offensive kaayo mo generalize dayon mo. Like they say there's always different reasons ngano, and so far diri sa Istorya, mura'g walay naminyo diri ug foreigner para lang makaahon sa ka pobre. Even so, it's not right for us to judge filipinas who choose to marry to better-off their and their family's lives. You don't know how much sacrifice they are doing para lang sa iya family diha sa pnas.

sometimes it is unfair bya sa part sa foreigner..especially if the girl is only after greener pastures coz i once chatted with a foreigner and he was really depressed and telling me that his wife, a native from Leyte, seems to be planning to leave him once she got her greencard or whatever. the sad part is that the foreigner cannot understand our dialect so he can only try to form a thought from the limited cebuano he knows.
