If you build the bridge from Argao.. the bridge would be about 20-25 km. Whereas if you built it in mactan.. around 30-35 km.
The main reason why this is not feasible is there's not that significant an economic benefit that a bridge can bring to both Cebu and Bohol.
With the Hangzhou Bay bridge, Shanghai and Ningbo port are 2 of biggest deep water ports in China. Cutting travel by 1/5 between the 2 ports benefits their economy...
A Cebu - Bohol bridge won't really pay for itself as Bohol is too small economy wise and Cebu's not that big either.
Besides, you also need to travel around 50km + to get to Argao or travel from the Northern part of Bohol to tagbilaran... no significant reduction in travel time if you compare it with a RORO system that goes straight from Cebu to Tagbilaran.
Its a plain matter of economics... a bridge is not yet feasible and I can think of 20 billion other ways to improve travel not only to Bohol but to the other islands as well.
