there is no limit on human exploration BUT there's a limit on human knowledge.
there is no limit on human exploration BUT there's a limit on human knowledge.
Not everything is about you. The topic asks why we need to explore space. You are sorely off topic if you think that hopefully your dreaming might inspire anyone here to be the next great inventor, astronaut, physicist. Your inspiration is not a cause to explore space. The last single person to inspire anyone to push into space was Kennedy ... and he matched it with action ... he matched it with billions dollars. Putting yourself on the same lofty heights he stands on is a bit presumptuous.
Get back on topic ... tell me ... why is there a need to explore space? No one here has yet to mention ANYTHING that me or any capable critic can take with simple and logical arguments. No one has yet to mention the economic importance of exploring space ... which I believe is what is going to make space exploration possible. Make it profitable ... and people will do it. No one has yet to mention the military strategic importance of space. These are both valid arguments ... but you and others are stuck on ... dreams ... which may or may not be accomplished. This is the science forum, not the science fiction forum. You are a man of science, but you fail to ask simple questions ... how? by who? how much? how long? Simple scientific procedure.
I feel you have this all backwards.there is no limit on human exploration BUT there's a limit on human knowledge.

There's really no need to hope for a Utopian future for humans to be fully capable of space exploration. All it takes is a pragmatic approach, in other words, space exploration needs to be lucrative. Satellites are a significant start, and soon commercial space travel will move things along too. The problem with space is that the general public think of it as something that needs to be studied more, unknown and irrelevant next to the problems of our society today.
Simply put, space exploration needs to generate money for people to take interest in it. It needs to be a real industry, so to speak. Until that happens, until people see it as MONEY generating, nobody will really care and no real tech development will be done for it.
On the flipside however, making space exploration a money making venture has drawbacks. The only way for space to make real money is for the private sector to get involved. This makes most academics opine that the pursuit of scientific knowledge might be abandoned in favor of profitable investments. Why use billions to explore space when you can make a fancy space hotel instead?
i am not against space exploration... what i'm against at is exploring and "owning" space as separate nations.
nice thread huh![]()
If our early ancestor haven't explored agriculture. we could have remained as hunter gatherer , the worst we could have been instict due to famine,.
we explore the universe to make out next thousad generation proud of us. that we did not let our humanrace lead to extinction , bec of stupid religions.
our sun is geting closer to earth, and earth will soon be inhabitable. our world is starting to become overpopulated,. and energy source are starting to be depleted.
we need explore the space , for a chance to bring our specie to its fullest and realize our purpose and utilize our brain.
hopefully to make in contact with other intelligence for better or for worst,. geting ready from any meteor , gama rayz ,or any forms of mass extinction.
Rodion is right
we need changes as a whole. Dreaming big Dreams is not a sin.
Dreaming is the birth of all invention.
imagination takes from A-Z, while logic from A to B.
Dream big dreams.
Reach for the stars , for if u fail
u may still land up in the moon.
And if we dont start it with our self , then who will.
if not now , when.?
as Dawkin's said - we should break free from Superstition.
wherein quarter of people are a fool of it (horoscope, cards and magic) which is earning billions of dollars that has no return on investement . but a plain way of pleasing others for money.
we need to explore space so that we can RELOCATE in case our planet explodes. could be far-fetched but totally possible. anybody seen District 9 yet?
