Default SRP inquiry should be in Court, not in Congress

In his news conference at Cebu City Hall yesterday, Osmeña said he is ready to defend the fairness, morality and advantages of the deal to the City Government. He said he will leave the legality of the matter to the City’s lawyers.

The mayor, however, said that it is unfair to appear before a hearing where the accusers, prosecutors and judges are the same people, instead of a judge in a regular court.

“No problem, fine, they can question me but alkanse gyud ko kay the accuser, the witness and the judge are the same people.

If this is a case of illegality, the proper venue is the court,” said Osmeña.

“I don’t want to show the Cebuanos that we have something to hide so we’ll just go there and answer their questions, bahala na if it’s a trap. They’re timing all of this for the elections. It’s been months that I’ve been asking them to bring out that Taguig contract... I will insist to them to include that, unless they want to lose their own credibility,” he said.

Being a lawyer, if PJ really wants this resolved (and not just politically motivated) for the good of the Cebuanos in general (province or city) LOGICALLY he should bring this to court.

The VERY BIG question is WHY NOT?!

IMO, because he and his father is just playing the game of shakedown (to get what they want IN the city) and/or he can't go the whole 9 yards in court because he is scared because he is not immune outside the halls of congress.

The Garcia's are smart. They choose their own battlefield to fight Tomas. Strategy na bro. Morag katong the greatest general and strategist of all time -Hannibal. Tomas will say what he wants but the Garcias are the ones who will dictate the tempo.

Apparently, it is a strategy but with this strategy, the Garcias did not address their motive from the Cebuanos eyes.

Again, if PJ is so sure of himself and being a lawyer, then he should have filed this in court IN THE FIRST PLACE and not waste TV time in Congress.

In short, pang lawgaw ra gyud equals talawan.

Iya ra ng i-railroad ang inquiry but if his intentions are really what he says it is, DAPAT siya pa ang magdali-dali ug file ani sa korte.

^^^ It doesn't matter bro ug unsay approach sa mga Garcia parte anang SRP so long as they will get the end result to their favor. They are a family of lawyers...tsk...tsk... daghan ug paagi unsaon pagbuak ug lubi. So daghan sad siguro ug paagi unsa-on nila pagpapriso si Tomas. hehe...

Inquiry lang man so Congress ra gyud. I hope naa kapadulngan nang inquiry; otherwise, another waste of time and money napud sa Congress

You are right but if sa congress, di na ma-preso si Tomas.

Let me rephrase that, SRP land deal issue.

Congress equals railroading equals no results, AS USUAL or AS USELESS.

If PJ sincerely wanted this is issue resolved fast for the Cebuanos, he knows where he should have brought this issue right from the get-go.

With the SRP wa lang gyud sila katilaw, bisan icing now, they are trying with all their power and influence to grab the entire cake from Tomas.
