Anyway, I recall that most of the time I lucid dream is only when the dream is particularly exhilarating (dreams of flying for example) or when the dream is particularly very bad (nightmarish).

    I guess it's because when a dream is in the extremes (bad or good; not in-between) then you subconsciously start to question "is this real? this can't be real. this is too good to be real. this is so bad I don't want it to be real" and that's when you start to be aware that you are dreaming. When the dream is particularly good then of course you want it to go on and you start flying higher for example. But when the dream is particularly bad you want it to be over thus you summon certain powers that you don't have in waking life to defeat a threat. On the other hand when a dream is neutral you don't really question it; so you just go on dreaming without being aware.

    Try paying more close attention to 'extreme' dreams (although I don't exactly know how but it might be a start). Of course I do not guarantee that it will bring you good results.
    wow! now i know why i always know i'm dreaming when i'm flying or being chased by monsters. thanks, sis.

    I don't have powers. The reason I mentioned powers is because I read somewhere that lucid dreaming is sometimes taught to kids who constantly have nightmares. In the dream (nightmare) they can try to summon a friend or a superhero to help them out of the situation. Another option would be for them to turn into superheroes themselves (in the dream, okay?).

    the first step to lucid dreaming is to recognize that you're in a dream. i've only experienced this twice. both of those times were medyo ... malaswa.

    @Luthienne

    i totally disagree with everything you just said.
