How to stop or solve the poverty in the Philippines?

by wikipedia's definition we are definitely richer before we were colonized by spain

by Merriam-Webster's definition we are also richer prior to colonization when relative to ourselves since its says "socially acceptable" and i believe prior to colonization, wealth distribution was pretty adequate. at the very least, i assume everyone had the bare necessities fullfilled.

The world has had the means to eliminate poverty for 40 or 50 years now. The tool used has been foreign aid. The problem with foreign aid is that it is stolen by the corrupt 3rd world politiicans and never reaches the needy. Another issue with foriegn aid is that it is viewed as an entitlement to those who receive it and not as startup capital for a new future.

Countries like Japan, South Korea, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore were able to lift themselves out of poverty with capitalism and free trade. Even China and India today are making great strides in the standard living of their residents with booming economies, prior to the global recession. Note, non-communists residents in western China are revolting because of an uneven distribution of wealth. The Commuist party is attempting to keep the lionshare for itself. It will eventually lead to a new politicial system over time.

So the question now becomes how can the Philippines create more opportunities for capitalism and free trade?

The Philippines has an appropriate political structure, democratic, to provide a framework for a effective goverment. Why doesn't it work?

Performing a root cause analysis on these issues could identify some interesting causes and maybe next steps and hopefully solutions

The part above regarding Merriam-Websters definition is a bit more complicated upon second reading.
what we consider socially acceptable today isn't quite the same as before.

having considered that time prior to colonization, our primitive soceity has viewed most of "what was" as acceptable. To put it simply most of what is socially acceptable is what you can really see around you way back when. where as now what is socially acceptable is contradictory to what we see on the streets.

i know its kind of confusing, but its a bit hard to convey ideas across such a constricting medium.

I've only pointed out some things that seem like reasonable approaches to the problem. see napaka important na exportation... therefore we must strengthen our local industries and businesses.. locala companies must be innovative to be able to compete with the world market... ngayon kung naka hyperwage agad sa tingin mo magagawa yun ng mga local companies?

in our case daku kaayo ta ug import na less ug export...

anyway meron na tayon San MIguel at JOlibee.. hahahaha...

Oh yes- Philippines is relying on export business- the exportation of labor force- our most valuable product - the OFW... and yes, they remit lots of money to feed our economy but lose their families in the process-- left by their domestic partners, their children gets into teen pregnancy or drugs and sooner than they expect, they return home with nothing but the terrible experience of discrimination, violence and even sexual abuses which, of course, they keep to themselves. Sad but true, this vicious cycle continues because our minimum wages here could hardly feed a family of 3.

And by the way- Jollibee is not in the export sector of our economy.
