for me lang ha, the province could invest its billion on provincial hospitals. i remember a classmate once called me and asked if its true that hospitals are very much lacking in cebu based on the data they have from DOH. and she was incredulous because cebu is a progressive province. to lack in something as basic as healthcare services while having excess billion is a bit shameful.

^yeah I agree...I just hope that the cebu government will realize this very basic needs and do something about it in a reasonable time.

    she did.

This year, Garcia reported in her SOPA 2009 that they will be completing the construction of two provincial hospitals in Carcar and Danao and the devolution of the Balamban District Hospital and the Bogo District Hospital.

other than that, 2 hospitals were also erected and named as North Gen and South Gen Hospital. though they came from private entities, they can cater to probinsyanos.

In health, the province has enrolled with Philhealth over 103,000 indigent families.

and what maybe ur friend is talking about is the lack of hospitals not only in Cebu Province (to which is being currently addressed) but also in the cities of Cebu like in Lapu2x, Mandaue, Talisay and Danao.

sa Cebu City, CCMC ra ilang gipanghambog nga samot kamatay man dha mga pasyente? aw ok VSMCC nuon. all the rest are privately owned.

Note that all these cities are not under the jurisdiction of the Cebu Province. if these cities lack the needed hospitals, why blame the governor? toinks!

In terms of roads and asphalted, the province has asphalted 534 kilometers of provincial roads and concreted 81.67 kilometers of barangay roads.

The province also completed 217 school buildings, or an equivalent of 434 badly needed classrooms.

The province also completed 22 level III water projects and will be completing 15 more within a year.

“In fact far from being a debtor, we have become a total opposite – the Province of Cebu has officially become a creditor, as we have opened credit facilities to local government units in the province to finance worthwhile and revenue-generating projects,” Garcia said.

that's great news, sir. she was referring to the province as a whole, including metro cebu, government and private. in terms of population, nagkulang ta sa desired ratio sa people:no. of beds.
