Gordon's proposal might have been a stretch, really. Giving amnesty to those who do not even show regret on what they have done is not in any way appropriate. Their reason is very much self- serving. It is not because they are too old, they can always get away with the rule of law.
If they won't stop their attitude, the military should not stop protecting the people in Mindanao. We don't want another act of unwanted hostages nor killings. To say that they want amnesty as if nothing happened is a complete absurdity by itself.

amnesty? why don't we start punishing them for the hundreds if not thousands of crimes they have committed and now they want plain amnesty? wla sila nalipung? they are almost as bad as Kim jong il. what if they turn their backs on that amnesty and start doing illegal stuff again? easy money thru kidnapping and other terrorist acts.
no sir. not in this lifetime. not in any lifetime nor any generation for that matter. they need to be annihilated from this country. they are a menace, just like the CPP-NPA.

Amnesty is for rebels. The Abu Sayyaf are not rebels. They are not fighting for an ideology. They are common criminals who wrap their nefarious activities in the cloth of radical Islam.
