I disagree with Ka Freddie about Gary V. though, even artists here in the US admit that somehow they are influenced by Michael Jackson, Gary has a unique sound but his dancing is influenced by Michael. However, Arnel Pineda? My God! Nothing but a wannabe Steve Perry. Proud siya nga sakay siya sa kasikat sa Journey nga hinaguan nilang Steve Perry ug iyang band? Pakauwaw lang! Nakakahiya! We shouldn't pay attention to our singers who are nothing but imitators.
Originality sells, mao nay concept sa America. Kadungog ba diay mo ug lain nga singer nga sikat who sounds exactly like Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston? You have to have your own sound, make that sound your own, to sell and be respected as an artist here. Mao nang magmugna na sila ug singing style like Britney. Before na sila morecord ug song, first nila nga task is to find their own sound.
Pinoys have to grow up. Agree ko ni Ka Freddie. People have to grow up. Arnel Pineda? PWE! imitator rang daku. ASAP, SOP? Sus, wa gyuy Pinoy signature. Mura tang brown ppl trying to sound and sing like foreign artists! Tan-aw pa mo ug variety shows sa Vietnam di ba kita ka'g Vietnamese original costumes and songs! Wa gyud tay identity tungod ra pud sa atong mentality nga the more they sound like a foreign artist, the better they are artists.
