Well, i do mix my background with my FMA/Eskrima, so i guess i had to mention both, my FMA/Eskrima background is:
1. I hold a Master 1 Degree Black Belt within
the Dacayana Eskrima System (former known as Migsunedo), under Master Jhun Dacayana.
2. I am a direct student of Grandmaster John Villasin (son of GGM. Atty. Jose Villasin) from
the Villasin Balintawak, where i only need to learn how to
teach group 4-5 and teach a student to become Instructor within Villasin Balintawak...
Besides above (the FMA/Eskrima), i mix in a lot of
my background from other styles both empty hand and
special weapons (Ninjutsu), i learned about in the last 14 years of MA training:
1. I was training Okinawan Shuri Ryu Karate 1 year in Esbjerg Karate Klub (my teachers was Ole and Brian).
2. I did train Ju-Jutsu (a mix of Aikido, Judo and Karate) in Esbjerg Ju-Jutsu Klub. My teacher there was Carsten Ettrup (5 x Danish Champ and Vice World Champ). I did train as much as possible at the time, every time they had a class i would join it, so i was there nearly every day. I did train for around 4 years or more there.....
3. I did run a training group in Esbjerg within KFC Kick-Boxing, my teacher was Claus Dalton (Scandinavian Champ). While i at the time also would cross-train with some local Thai-boxers to make sure i did keep up with the requirements, i got a Green belt under KFC Kick-Boxing.
4. Later i turned the training group into a Bujinkan training group (since i wanted something more streetwise), I did train many years within Bujinkan under guys like Flemming Wenzel (head of Shadow Warrior Danmark), Jesper Lundqvist (head of Ninjutsu Danmark), but the one who did teach me most was Jim Karstensen 4 dan. (RIP). Since he moved to Esbjerg (my home town in Denmark) and was teaching me there....
I did earn a rank of 5 Kyu within Bujinkan (Green Belt), but we never really did make any testing for belts, it was more about the art then the belt (which is fine with me, since i got quality teachings).
All my instructors within Bujinkan where direct students of Soke Hatsumi.....
After that i went to the Philippines and started with FMA/Eskrima (look above)....
Sincerly yours,
Jan Jensen
