ok found the probelm...it is the mobo...i tried the swapping out the psu with my friends and it still didn't boot. i tried my old psu with his system and it booted up fine...

now asus offers a 3 year warranty with their motherboards...is that honored here (i bought the item in pc express)

i still have 2 months left on it
