I do recall that Hume and Kant were diametrically opposed on the nature of morality. But that is OT here. Both Hume and Kant, by the way, argued strongly against Rational Theism.

Kant held /anchored strongly his position on priori principles (meaning there must be a transcendent force that/who governs the affairs of man and nature since the beginning of time). Corollary to this, Kant also conjectured that these priori principles include the nature of God being righteous and good as described in his "Metaphysics of Morals" and that his existence can be well exemplified by what is right and and the merits of virtue. In a way, he shunned practical reason to explain God simply because morality, to Kant, offered a more meaningful explanation to God's existence.

btw, you were right about Hume being an equally strong empiricist and despised every argument based on ontology.

That is why there must be a superior being who made us all. That is the reason why we exist. It is absurd even scientifically that we came from nothing. Remember God has no beginning, it explains everything. Even some scientist believe in God, Einstein, Galileo, etc. Kita pa kaha nga ordinary people lang.
