disadvantage with high HDD capacity?

sa akoa benchmark kana akoa seagate windows 7 lang sulod pa ana
akoa 1tb 200 gig sumthing na lang free space hehehe
dili lang ko ka bench sa write speed niya kay dapat clean gyud ang hdd para ana as what mo pop up sa hdtune

mumatter ba sad ang cpu speed nmo sa pg-access sa hardisk or naa rajud na sa hardisk itself ang iyang kapaspason?

and in this scenario sir, if naa ky 2 hardisks, hardisk 1 naa dri imong OS, hardisk 2 naa dri imong data including games.. mas hinay ba imong pg access sa imong data kung ingon ani sir? shud we consider the RPMs of both HDD? and how bout the case wherein only 1 hardisk then just partitioned into 2 drives (drive 1 has the OS and drive 2 for data and games)..?

SSD, u min mao ni flash memory gamit instead of disk platters? if mao, yes mas paspas kono ni cya gyud pro shorter life span kono compared sa hardisk gyud.. nkamention akong maestro ani ahehe.. hehe mao kha ni ang mureplace sa hardisk in the future?

medyo misleading ang pag-specify sa mga HDD manufacturers sa capacity sa ila drives. kahibaw man ta nga ang giga- is a prefix denoting 10^9, so 160GB means 160,000,000,000 bytes. but bytes man ang gi-prefix nga giga- so sa mga nakahibalo about bytes, naturally i-multiply ang 1024 three times which would give 160GB a total of 171,798,691,840 bytes. the GB in HDDs usually refers to the number (160 in this case) followed by nine zeroes, not exactly the latter (160x1024x1024x1024). but the OS calculates this way so malibog ang mamalitay why naa discrepancy.

160GB ~ 149GB
320GB ~ 298GB
500GB ~ 466GB

so microsoft follows the 1024 while linux do not.

so you can either use microsoft and live with 1024 or use linux so that you will really see the advertised capacity of your HDD.

If your HD is infected with a virus, it takes time to scan a 1.5T specially if it contains lots of files (folders, docs, etc....)
