overclocker or not i recommend the i7/i5 platform - newer, faster, better and all the cliches that go with it.

A lot of poeple are moving away from 775 , jumping "off" the 775 train and into the i7. Budget is always a determining factor but with prices dropping fast for the i7, its best to go with it. good luck with your purchase.

having said that - anyone have a Q9550 for sale? )

no significant difference in performance between i7 and core2... kung asa ka mas makabarato... go for it.

Go for an Intel Motherboard para dili jud ma overclock.

That includes the North and South Bridge getting really, really hot. An issue that Intel has never solved yet. Some defective Intel boards that come in our store mostly have those problems, and they don't work at all. If you remove the sink that covers the chipset, you will see the chipset has dents or "burot-burot".

/TS - if makahuwat ka bay, better wait for i5. Cheap and ang performance kay naa ra between sa C2Q ug i7. Right now im saving alot of money for an i5 setup because im grabbing it right away when it goes out in the market

Anyways, anyone here who has an idea pila kaha ang set-up sa i5? i heard ang board and procie combo is just around 150-180 dollars. plus im pretty sure DDR3 prices would go down. Mga pila kaha no?

Naa bitaw warranty hehe. Anyway were talking about non-overclockability. So I suggested Intel board.

DDR3 prices would go down once DDR4 would come out. endless cycle eh?

For me I'd go for i-7 rather than i-5 for future proofing.
Anyway this is not really a hard choice as long as you have the money i-7 or i5, Phenom 2 or even Q9xxx won't let you down in terms of performance.

Agreed reliable kaayo ang warranty sa Intel. Especially ang RMAs. Pero hasul man magub-an ug board right?

Also, im not pointing out sa overclocking capabilities sa board. Because bisag unsa pa ka ka-normal user and ang board nimo intel, stuff happens like what i mentioned. And it happens 25% of the time.
