In so many instances, including the present crisis in Fort Bonifacio, it is so obvious bitaw nga kining mga media are the once exacerbating most of not so serious events, nearly putting words into the mouths of those they interview, and most of them seemed so arrogant in addressing whomsoever they talk to! You can actually see through their body language and 'commentary language' how thay enjoy their power as if whatever their mouths dishes out is the only infallible truth! Some of them even at times salivates openly about becoming senators and vice-presidents in the future!

They grossly underestimate and disregard the intelligence of the silent majority who can see clearly the footages on TV that show no tension among the Marines, and insisting on speculating on the loyalties of the troops they see, whether they support Col Querubin, Gen Allaga etc...etc.... If there is one appropriate nationwide clamor during these times it should be "TAME THE MEDIA" or better yet "TAMA NA! SOBRA NA! ISARA NA!"

The media isn't perfect since it's composed of imperfect people. But a free media, with all its imperfections, is still infinitely better than a puppet media which only serves as the spokespersons of an abusive regime.

This is obviously true. Indeed a free media is the best media if it's role is geared in helping building a nation not on destroying it. We have the freest media in asia but it's not helping the country move forward. Look at our rich asian neighbors, they're freedom of expression is far inferior compared to ours but their common man has benefited because their countries are speeding up ahead.

The President can never make a single thing right kay puro sayop ug sila pasultihon.

Uhm.. how about the USA? They have the most active and free media in the world, you hear their media criticize their government all the time. Yet they are the world's largest economy and the only superpower left in the world. How do you explain that?

We really shouldn't blame the media if they report negative things. It is their duty to present the news, good or bad. Instead, blame the people who caused the negative events to happen.

Are you trying to say we should give up our freedoms for a little security? In that case... listen to what Benjamin Franklin said:

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Haaa.

Gihugasan sila ug dugo kita wala. For me dili pa panahon nato ron nga magpinariha ta sa mga amercano ug sytle kay daghan pa tag bugas kan-on usa ta kapareha nila.

If I can't compare us to Americans (and we are BOTH democracies by the way), why are you comparing us to our Asian neighbors (who have had a very different history and form of government from us)?

Nagtoo gyud diay ka nga makapareha ta sa mga Amercano?
Why not? Why can't we eventually become as good as them with regards to our democracy? The Americans didn't invent democracy.

And don't feed me with that Franklin bull***t kay applicable lang na sa mga Amercano.
Haa? Why is it only applicable to Americans? Please enlighten me. Also, why call it BS? You sound like you have PMS.

ain sila ug history i compara sa ato kay ga civil war sila. Gihugasan sila ug dugo kita wala.
So a country has to have a civil war before you believe it can be a democracy? What's the connection? Please explain.

For me dili pa panahon nato ron nga magpinariha ta sa mga amercano ug sytle kay daghan pa tag bugas kan-on usa ta kapareha nila.
    Kanus-a man diay ta magsugod?

I'm guessing you didn't live through the martial law days. How would you like waking up one day to find your dad or brother missing after being arrested by the police simply for being suspected of being against the President? And never hearing from them again? That happened to thousands and thousands of families during the martial law period.

Again, the best protection we have against corruption and abuse in government is a free and vigilant press.
