To get something from the net, the word "kill" appears 146 times in the Revised Standard Version of the Bible. It appears 118 times in the King James Version. It appears 218 times in the Douay-Rheims Version.
Somtimes it amazes me that the commandment "thou shall not kill" is/was part of the law. The bible says that God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people [1 chronicles 21] and God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value [Deuteronomy 3]. Mao ra no akong nadumduman. Sorry, there are more but can't remember them all.
Basically, it's not about my views about the Bible but rather an understanding that there are certain things that the Bible had its course.
hi trip..This sounds silly...But who really is the original author of the Bible? 'Coz..I was just thinking..If the creation of the world is written in the Bible..Does it mean that author was alive even before Jesus was born? Call me stupid or what..I just wanna know..Can somebody tell me?
