If there is no God, Who Governs Right or Wrong?

So trip tell me how do we teach our children draw the line between good and evil. Would it be acceptable if your son/daughter will tell you I am a DEMON. Bible draws this line... and there is nothing wrong with the Bible if you don't believe God at least you believe that killing is bad, lying is bad, covetousness is bad, and most of all LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Well, for me... First, I'll ask my child to define what is a demon? In my own, I'll teach them what the bible is and guide them from there. I don't smack my child with a bible just to prove my point that being a demon is against the bible... you have to explain what is demon and what causes to be one. Then I'll teach them the commandments and then explain to them. If they understand, then I am doing my part. It's up to them later in life to choose what their life will be. btw, I don't like my children to live like some kind of fundamentalists but full of wisdom.

Trip i do not impose we follow the Bible, My point is We NEED the Chalk line between good and evil, not your chalk not my chalk but our chalk. If there is anything that can substitute Bible that is acceptable then that would be fine... Socialist? Communist? I still do not know... people are claiming they know... does it mean his right is right for me? well nobody borns the sameway...

I mean, if you are going to be hard nosed teacher soon they will question your values your ethics, your beliefs and your kids will sway out from your reach. The bible is bible there are things that are good natured and the are things that aren't... you teach them that. Now, when you ask me about substitute... what does it really mean? Beliefs, faith, religion? to be honest, kids are like sponge... the more you give them... they more they absorb. But you have to be very careful because they are at a delicate stage. As for me, I'll them what's communism, socialism, partisan, etc... so they will understand that there are hundreds of religion claiming they are the truth. I think that's simple enough for the kids to know.

oh sorry, I didn't know that you get my point... what I mean is that, there are killings, murders, stealing, to name a few. I can't remember all the verses but there are there for you to read.

Killings did occur. But did the Bible teached for us to kill? Did it personally tell you to kill?

The Bible also includes historical information. If there are killings it doesn't mean we should kill.

So what you mean to say if we see murder in the tv news so we should murder as well since its a fact right? Seems to be that your view of the Bible Christians are as like that.
We read newspaper somebody robbed a bank oh this is fact that it happened so we should rob a bank then.
This is your judgement about the Bible just to illustrate.

To get something from the net, the word "kill" appears 146 times in the Revised Standard Version of the Bible. It appears 118 times in the King James Version. It appears 218 times in the Douay-Rheims Version.

Somtimes it amazes me that the commandment "thou shall not kill" is/was part of the law. The bible says that God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people [1 chronicles 21] and God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value [Deuteronomy 3]. Mao ra no akong nadumduman. Sorry, there are more but can't remember them all.

Basically, it's not about my views about the Bible but rather an understanding that there are certain things that the Bible had its course.

In general terms, to start teaching them is at the age of 5.
