Of course the Church SHOULD have a say. That's what the Church is supposed to do. All of us have a say, but the Church shouldn't? Now THAT is discriminmation!
I never said that the Church shouldn't have a say..i only stated that it will take a long time for it (same *** marriage) to be approved..

My bad! My apologies for not understanding your post .

I do not agree, however, that such a bill should be approved. The bill, as of the last time I read it, contained provisions that will prohibit anyone from saying that homosexual practices are immoral. Now that's a violation of the right to free speech. If someone believes homosexual practices are wrong then he/she should be able to say it in public. Homosexuality should not be a politically-protected choice.

    Got this from another forum:

..and yet we must. Discrimination is often tossed about as a vile thing to be avoided but in reality we MUST discriminate in order ot be civilized. For instance, we (US society) discriminate against people who prefer *** with children even if it's consensual. We discriminate against those who believe that the earth belongs to all and no one can restrict access to any lands. We discriminate against cannibals and those who believe in human sacrifice. We discriminate against the use of most drugs as a part of religious practice and religious prostitution. All of these things have been seen as valid religious practices by various peoples during history. I find it absolutley necessary to discriminate against religious beliefs that endanger my family. Now how I choose to express my discrimination should certainly be restricted for the good of society but we can't eliminate religious discrimination nor do I think we should.

I believe that there IS absolute right and wrong. I oppose situational ethics. Thus I CAN'T accept some religions, and some extremists can't even be tolerated much less accepted. At some point you have to stand for something or you will have nothing.

    I concur.

I would like to ask you, who made this homosexual people? remember that everything in this world is God-creation and should be respected. What if your son, daughter, relative, friend, or maybe your dad, uncle, best friend, father in law, brother in law or lolo or lolo of your lolo is gay or homosexual, can you say it to them? You homosexual go to hell? another one, are you really sure that you can go to heaven and not to hell?

i do have friends who are gay , but some refused to live the kind of lifestyle which is the one to be abhored , and i commend their strentgh to refsue to give in to the world's standards. it is the act , the temptation and lust that i do not like , yes they are also done by heterosexuals , but i think this opens up gay marraiges which is another channel that endagers the basic unit of our society , the family .

i have friends who are lesbians and gays , and i truly love them as my friends . as a friend though i accept them wholeheartedly and i guess we can only pray for them who struggle so much also .i can see very successful gays and lesbians in the workplace , well, may be there are some who experience discrimination but i guess it happens to everybody even to some men for whatever reason . i'm still not sure what this bill really stipulates , if its just being treated unfairly in the workplace etc , well , women experience that a lot ,and some men too. if its for protection against violence , well that is very basic right everybody has that regardless of theyre sexual orientation .

we all have basic rights that we enjoy , but there are group of people who have special rights as well , like children , the handicapped etc . and maybe they belong to such special group so there shouldnt be a big fuss about this. there are a lot of group that experiences discrimination ,nobody and i mean NoBody should be discriminated but it's still apparent in our society , mind you , not just towards the gays and lesbians . i guess theyre making a big fuss about gay rights, i can sense too much politics behind this .

Being a "Homo" is the least of the "Discrimination issues."*

    i totally agree .

theyre just raking some votes i guess from a certain group of people. if they are really into avoiding discrimination , they should take a better look about other long standing discrimination issues .

    - Now this is discrimination within your family mismo. How sad. Hope none of your kids will be homosexual.
