hybrid_x: i guess the number of computers in your i-cafe won't be more than 250 else i'd be recommending class B addressing instead of class C. It would be very nice this way, at least, it won't involve a large number of ip addresses.
Class C lang bro.![]()
it wont give any trouble
hehehe libog ko nyo 2 AMD_ and sploy...

Technically speaking, class B has subnet of 255.255.0.0 while class C has 255.255.255.0. Its expressed in dotted decimal format. In binary, class B would be 11111111.11111111.00000000.00000000 and class C would be 11111111.11111111.11111111.00000000
For a class B network, there are 16 bits allocated for host which means 216 or 65,536 address available including network and broadcast addresses. In short, you can have as many as 65,534 computers in your cafe when you use class B addressing.
For a class C network, there are 8 bits allocated for host which means 28 or 256 address available including network and broadcast addresses. In short, you can have as many as 254 computers in your cafe when you use class C addressing.
Hope i clear the issue guys.
ic. now its clear... onemore thing does ip class address has something to do w/ lan and internet connection (e.g class B ip configuration is much more faster than class C ip configuration)?

Its not an issue on internet connection when dealing with 30+ computers. Your router should be able to handle that whether its using Class B or C addressing scheme.
Unless of course you are comparing a loaded class C and class B networks, then its too obvious that 254 computers has faster internet connection than 65,534.
great help... your the man..

if you guys need an internet cafe management that has this capability
-- configure the workstations thru the server
- change station ID #
- hide start button
- hide network setup
- hide control panel applets
- hide disk drives
- etc
-- capable of transferring customer from 1 pc to another pc, shutdown, lock unlock workstation
-- time monitoring
-- optional module (Point Of Sale software)
-- you will be given an alert if your dsl modem/router is disconnected or shutdown.
-- monitor if a certain server or web site is up or down
-- and so much more
-- customizable according to your need
then i can visit your internet cafe for the proposal
this what appear when i use the command cmd /k ipconfig using dynamic ip addressing
Connection-specific DNS Suffix: lan
IP Address: 10.0.0.3
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 10.0.0.138
and now i decide to use STATIC IP ADDRESSING w/ tcp/ip installed
and configure as follow
IP ADDRESS: 10.0.0.3
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 10.0.0.138
restart pc... and when it turns-on walla! i cant browse network neighborhood... what went happen?
