LOL! Sa-ag napud. This is a thread for FREE antivirus. Not that overpriced USD39.95 commercial product.

Which brings up an interesting point. I've seen a lot of people in the free antivirus threads say they have a free copy of this product. I found out you can get one by downloading from a hack site.

How good is a product that can't even detect the malware that site installs and that comes with the "FREE" package?

IMHO, you might be all smug about getting a FREE NOD32, but that may very well be a compromised copy.

update siya from official nod32 servers. gikan pud sa nod32 website akong gidownload as trial then upgrade ko to full version which is free.

never paid anything for the updates or full upgrade.

so para nako nod32 is free.

a friend of mine uses avira and avast both running at the same time.. nice offline updates
available.. im still stick to avast home and nod32 version 3...

now u might ask why offline updates? syempre some of us are poor (way internet sa balay) so download offline updates from internet cafes then install on your home pc or laptops...

avast and nod works well on windows 7 too... i tried nod32 version 4 it doesnt support the offline update so i stick to v3..

a friend of mine uses avira and avast both running at the same time.. nice offline updates

Then I highly recommend the following freeware combination: Avira antivirus (with antirootkit and antispyware not installed) + PC Tools Spyware Doctor starter edition from Google Pack (with anti-rootkit enabled) + COMODO firewall with Defense + and Threatcast enabled. This is a far more effective combo than many commercial security suites.

There's just no excuse for piracy nowadays. You'll find this combo catches some things NOD 32 doesn't find.

3. nod32 (been using this ever since... though naa a cya dli makita pro magsubmit man cya sa file to check... iyang i-quarantine tpos after ma-upd8 ang nod32... tanngal na nya...)

advice lng.. "ALWAYS" upd8 ur anti-vir softwares and use the latest versions

as far as this thread is concerned... avg and avira ra ang free anti-vir softwares... i dont use them though (basta free.. hehehe)

BTW... u can get free anti-vir aside avg and avira... google it lng... hehehe... kung kugihan ka lng mangita...
