    Default TWO

actually one of my main reasons on being interested in film making is using music for accompaniment of the scenes. music i daydream about are mostly from my favorite band though, so.... theres a lot to learn there
Well, R/Brey if this is how you think, then you're sure to be on board when I start making my lowbudget horror film that I'm gonna call

    "TWO"

Its told thru the POV of the killer and I'm gonna start writing a script when I can find a way to still make it suspenseful even though its told thru the killer's eyes......... and in a way, i do NOT like the killer to be the protag of the film.

yes, i'm gonna call it "TWO"

if not, i'm gonna have a working title:
    "NOT ANOTHER WHODUNIT MOVIE"

oops, unsaon mampud nako paghimo na wa koi equipment or knowlege bout equipment? gadamgo ra man ko karun ...... pero this is where it starts, right

Just wanna ask Jomark before i write any more scripts:

Um, so you're saying that as long as i have the crew, the equipment and the cast and am SURE they are willing to work with me, its okay for me to NOT follow the standard rules of a spec screenplay?
the standard rules of making a spec are pretty ****ing daunting! :o

but if it really is OKAY to write however i want to wherever i want to, then i'll make a 25 page screenplay that i intend to shoot as 2 hours of principal footage.

later on we can chop off that footage to just 100 minutes.

like i said earlier, the normal spec would be 110 pages, but those are coming from the words of masochistic storytellers who are trying to break in on the WGA. (Writer's Guild of America)

pero we're not talking about writing, gusto man jyud ta mu-shoot ug material diba?

    please enlighten me some more.

    by the way, r/brey:

IF i do write a script, i WON'T set it anywhere and i'll write it as if the movie happens in the "States". cuz i also wanna show it sa mga kano nako na contacts here sa internet.
dali ra bitaw na ma-translate come the time we decide to shoot it

also, you never did answer this r/brey - what do you think of SPY CAM?

rotoscoping eh? you could try the latest from boris. boris red 3gl
Boris is kinda buggy, it does not have a sophisticated spill suppressor for compositing as compared with Combustion, the one am using right now. My latest project involved CGI element incorporated to a live footage and Combustion performed excellently in the process.

Definitely. Have you heard about shooting scripts or storyboarding? You can get away with the Hollywood screenplay rule of 110 pages. As we all knew, Hollywood production houses have the luxury of time and money and there's no way we can have that luxury, unless.. So start making a movie and show it to us....

    Jomark,

yeah, i know 'bout shooting scripts. they usually are the ones with the scene numbers and camera commands inserted.

its pretty obvious that those things are to make the job of the editor and the D.P. easier.

EDIT: Also, i cant help it; but can you tell us - or me more about this Metyor thing your working on? are there actors? was there a script?
or were you shooting "destruction" sequences only as principals so later on, I assume you'll start putting the missing pieces of the jigsaw puzzle from there

i look forward to seeing teaser attached to maybe SPIDER-MAN 2...... LOL

Shooting scripts and storyboarding means differently in independent filmmaking. Independent filmmaking is a one man band. However, it is understandble that the influence of masochistic ways of Hollywood filmking is really that pervasive.

When I was attending a filmmaking workshop the need for experimental or adaptive ways of making independent movie was emphasized. There was an indie filmmaker who a sort of utilized an all in one screenplay. It incorporates the storyboard and the script. Its just a matter of where you are comfortable with the ways of filmmaking and get the movie done.

and i heard it integrates to a good deal of NLEs. mo support na ba siya ug vegas karon jomark?
As long as the rendered output is in native DV format, Vegas will accept such.

Also, i cant help it; but can you tell us - or me more about this Metyor thing your working on? are there actors? was there a script?

"Metyors" is my first foray into digital filmmaking. It is loosely based on the Hollywood meteor theme movies but with a local twists. Imagine "Deep Impact" happening in Cebu and all the chaos and destructions of "Armaggedon".

I've claimed it to be or would be the first Cebuano disaster movie. The need for actors is inevitable because I want it to be a character driven movie. In the movie trailer, i've made some kind of cameo appearance though. Yeah, shooting "destruction" sequences only as principals as I have choices for scripts. First of course from my own (the ways I want the disaster to happen) which is kinda serious and the one from Mr. Al Evangelio, a renowned Cebuano director and a Palanca awardee in literature, which is hilarious.

I will find a server soon to have the trailer available for download (ive tried a free server once but they dont offer the facilities for downloading

mr. evangelio seems to have growing popularity. he's currently directing HELEN OF TROY for Mary Immaculate's School. my younger bro pulled out because he thought that everyone pulling the strings were so full of themselves and personally, he told me tha the play might end up looking like shit. Anyways, i couldn't care less, i'm not a big fan of plays or live acts anyway

storyboarding and screenplays all in one? that's interesting. i've never heard of that before.

anyways, i'm still undecided as to whether i will write a horror or an action script next,

Jomark, I have one sci-fi screenplay and one voyeuristic erotic thriller, wanna take a look? i wrote it a long time ago. the dialogue is stale, the scenes have awful pacing and there are some twists that aren't so, but i guess a little tedious.

Wanna see them? since you're into digital filmmaking i guess you can also make my scifi script if you wanted to
anyways, just tell me if you wanna see them, if you wanna film them go ahead, revise them all you want and i don't ask for anything but my name in the credits.

    What do you think?

okay, i'll see if i can email them to 'ya soon.
