i need suggestion bout dvd writer

will give this a spin.. will see if this works better than those mentioned.

im using LG DVD BURNER for 2 yrs na and so far no probs for me..... Depende ra gyud sa pag gamit. :mrgreen:

bro....ako gamit dri is PIONEER...so far wla gyud problema....bsag 1.44 nga floppy disk i butang, write gihapon siya...hehehe...btaw...PIONEER is the best....

I just got a BenQ DW1640, for only P 3,400 (incl. tax ) at TTI SM. This model is also the basis for the Sony DRU-810a. I would have gotten the Sony, since it has interchangeable front panels. The dang thing was that it was out of stock when I went there, and at that time, it was at least Php 800 more expensive.

It's a really good writer, however, I had 1 coaster that was probably due to my own error. I used a Sony DVD-R that was labeled as being 1x-8x compatible. I bought 4 of those, and tried burning the first DVD @ 16x.. it DID burn right, and it took only around 6 mins. However, the 2nd DVD I tried wasn't so lucky. I again used 16x writing on 8x media, and when it was about 10% complete, Nero froze up for a few minutes, then it quit, telling me the burning process has failed. Sure was an expensive coaster. The 3rd DVD was a success though, after I chose 8x as the write speed.

So maybe I should have written at 8x all along? Do you think there's a problem with the drive?

^^hmm..your nero did not auto-detect the media as 8x?..im sure the problem is in yur burning software..i dont have problem burning with my 1640 even if the media is a cheapo CDR-king DVD-R.
