How to stop or solve the poverty in the Philippines?

yes the book is funny and intelligently done, that is why many read it despite the boring topic of economics. Did economic ever generate as much interest in us, than this theory? No. Econ is very boring, the book hYperwage makes economics alive in the way he writes.

However, aside from being funny and intelligent, it really has a POINT. and that is the important deal. He has a point, one which is we should have seen all along all this time.

When he explains how Hyperwage operates, he is NOT inventing hyperwage, He is merely describing how it is already being adopted in rich countries.

He is explaining why rich countries are rich. ANd his answer: high wages of the poorest worker is what made these countries rich (compared to other countries)

If you dont agree, try come up with your own reason? And then use your chosen reason to explain how it will help us become first world country DO it step by step liike the hyperwgge book

how to solve \brain drain, low tax colelctsion etc.. can you one chose reason answer the problems like high purchasing power does?>

Thats the test of whether your own theory is correct.

So far hyperwage theory can explain how and why things happen in rich world and in poor worlds.

When basic commodities are high, the worker rethinks the size of his family. Thus, in Japan, Korea, Singapore or in Europe, the population growth is very low compared to that a poor country.
When wages are high, inflation is high. Inflation is a sign of growth, growth is good. Inflation therefore is a leading indicator of economic optimism. Inflation means higher prices.

sir there is no study supporting the idea that high price of basic commodity worker rethink the size of family..but there is a negative correlation between economic growth and fertility rating.. but social scientist are reluctant to point out the causal relation between the two…
so we cannot actually say outright that its because of high basic commodity prices that make the family size smaller… there could be other factors… their basic ideas on ***, and reproductive health… and even on family...

inflation is like a double edge sword… could be good could be bad….

The real causes of poverty in the Philippines are massive corruption, indiscriminate debt servicing, war, and economic mismanagement (poor government policies). These do more to affect the government's ability to bring economic opportunities to the people, and our productive capacity than anything else. Things like "overpopulation" are just scapegoats.

How about our mentality as people and as individual? murag ang pinaka dako man tingali nga factor ang batasan man tingali ug pang huna huna sa katawhan. kana tanan imu gipang hisgotan ma trace ra ghapon na sa batasan sa mga tawo sa usa ka nasud. kay ang mga tawo sa gobyerno producto or gkan ra ghapon na sa katawhan.

For me, usbon sah natu ang atu tagsa tagsa ka batasan kay anha magsugod ang changes tanan....

Just because you havent read any study, does not mean it exists

Just because there isnt any study does not mean it doesnt exist (Remember Newton and gravity)

And you dont need any study if you see it for yourself (res ipsa loquitor; you understand this maxim)

Try to live abroad for many years, and observe their day to day operation, and you will hear conversations about "serious" discussion on having a baby or not.

IT is a very very very conscious decision to first world couples. (Even in american movies, you can hear these conversations)

Your experience and mine are not broad enough, so it is wrong to just say there is no such study. Some things are self-evident in some societies that they dont need to explain it in a formal and very costly study (hyperwage means expensive studies, millions of pesos equiv)

in the 70's that OFW solution, and still is, wrong but acceptable for survival. that is why we have never focused on developing the domestic market with domestic purchasing power.

THe OFW and the BPO phenomena have and are blinding us.

Who said that that real cause of poverty is corruption, mismangemnet etc?

Even if we have zero corrption and perfect managent and pay our debts, we will still be poor if you are paid only P260 day when the survival amount if p700 per day...

The real cause of poverty is lack of purchasing power. And this is also the same cause why we only have a few companies doing business, or our companies are very very small.

do you think civil war would be the last option if its getting worst??

Suppose we have decentralization tomorrow:

1. But your wage is still P260 per day.

2. While you need P700 to feed your family (school fares, bao, clothings, for children etc)


You will still be poor! so what is the solution? decentralization? where is the cause and effect?

by the way, Local govt code is very much a decentralization law.
