I don't think that being in the influence of alcohol is a substantial reason for someone to be turning mean or abusve, this just an excuse. He has a drinking problem and that's what this is all about. When his drunk, he can't control his temper so he'd better learn to stay away from drinking so that he can't hurt anybody or even hurt himself.
