Major differences between a PASTOR and a ROMAN CATHOLIC PRIEST
Priest: study both philosophy (4 yrs) and Theology (4 yrs) with exposure for 1 yr
Pastor: have secular courses then study theology for 1 or 2 yrs and some 3 yrs depending on denomination or religion
Priest: Have two options become a RELIGIOUS (franciscan, carmelites, dominican, augustinian, piarest, svd, ext.) or a SECULAR priest which is normally called diocesan priest.
Pastor: NONE
Priest: have VOWS for religious (POVERTY, CHASTITY and OBEDIENCE) and PROMISE for diocesans (poverty, chastity and obedience)
Pastor: NONE except to his wife
Priest: Wheres the Casock for diocesan and habits for religious.
Pastor: Polo or barong
Priest: ONLY FOR MEN
Pastor: for MEN and WOMEN unisex
Priest: Say mass everyday and 3x every SUNDAY
pastor: Leads worship ones a week or two
Priest: Can forgive sins
Pastors: cannot
Priest: Follows the cannon law
Pastors: have laws but not standardized
Priest: Follows the same gospel reading reading everyday for the MASS thesame reading followed around the world.
Pastor: Follows whatever he likes to read
