    Thiesm and Athiesm simplified.

Thiests are like kids with rich parents, while athiests are like orphans.

The kids with rich parents, since they're not the earners, spend their money freely as they wish, which more often than not, leads them into trouble (i.e. debt). However, they have their rich folks to rescue them from their deeds.

The orphans however (who possibly have found a means of living by themselves, since they have no parents) are more careful about how they spend their money, because they know they don't have any fallback (i.e. they don't have any parents who can "save" them), and thus they usually don't end up in debt, compared to the rich kids.

I though I'd use this as an analogy to explain brownprose's observation...

So going back to the topic, yes, in the eyes of those who have parents (theists), being an orphan (atheist) would seem to be a "dangerous" situation, because a person who has not experienced being an orphan might be terrified at the thought of not having any parents (because all the material freedoms they enjoyed while having rich parents will be gone), whereas, someone who grew up without having any parents may not really mind it at all.

Agree... only not quite about "atheist world." We haven't been into an atheist world yet as more than 90 percent of the world are god-believing. But then again, who knows...

Yes it is a comparison based on personal experience. So I don't want you to count on it as a general fact. From the school where I attended (this was back in early 2000 in The Netherlands), most of them were actually atheists. I would like to compare them with my classmates here where I used to study in a Catholic university back in college and in another school where I also attended Theo school (not Catholic).

Atheists as they were, they were more politically correct, peace-loving and tolerant on what others have to say about their religion. They didn't mind at all being labeled as "godless" so long as they follow rules, pay taxes, help those who are in need if they need to... then they're okay. But hat's just an observation...and I see no reason to be afraid of them.

i salute to your atheist friends.. not like our resident atheist here they cant handle the existence of theist here. they lack what your atheist friends have, TOLERANT and peace-loving?
