. Homosexuality and the Ordained Ministry

From the time of the Second Vatican Council until today, various Documents of the Magisterium, and especially the Catechism of the Catholic Church, have confirmed the teaching of the Church on homosexuality. The Catechism distinguishes between homosexual acts and homosexual tendencies.

Regarding acts, it teaches that Sacred Scripture presents them as grave sins. The Tradition has constantly considered them as intrinsically immoral and contrary to the natural law. Consequently, under no circumstance can they be approved.

Deep-seated homosexual tendencies, which are found in a number of men and women, are also objectively disordered and, for those same people, often constitute a trial. Such persons must be accepted with respect and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. They are called to fulfil God's will in their lives and to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter[8].

In the light of such teaching, this Dicastery, in accord with the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, believes it necessary to state clearly that the Church, while profoundly respecting the persons in question[9], cannot admit to the seminary or to holy orders those who practise homosexuality, present deep-seated homosexual tendencies or support the so-called "gay culture"[10].

you guys are funny. defining norms? norms are constantly changing and is subject to what is accepted by society. God does not ostracize, people do - and using God as an excuse is pathetic. The church is not all righteous, and it has made huge mistakes due to twisted beliefs and misunderstanding of our faith, or maybe you forgot about the mass murder of wiccan practitioners, or those who were falsely accused of being so during the Medieval Inquisition. Not to metion the were 3 more inquisitions that followed (Portugese, Spanish, and Roman).

Face it people, you think homosexuals are dirty because in your minds, you unfairly and immediately relate them to the earlier mentioned. Wake up! The only thing differentiating homosexuals from heterosexuals is within their definitions - sexual preference.

For the Catholics being member of the 3 *** is not a sin, but only its act (SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH THE SAME *** is a SIN) but any man or woman who have a tendency or is a 3 *** alreay is not allowed to be apart of the HOLY ORDERS or being nun.

I think there are still so many homos priests in the Catholic Church. No ofense. Why were they ordained in the first place? What a great irony!
