I don't think so. Will the devil be the one to go to prison or suffer the consequences? Put yourself on a rapist's shoes and think what will be the reaction of the people around you if you give that kind of reasoning? Won't people laugh at you?

It is not enough reason to say that the belief of the devil's existence is caused by this way of thinking.

The devil is the adversary. He contradicts the plan that God has for us - and that is to be able to return to His presence. It's not making it as a scapegoat to say that indeed the devil's primarily role (of which he chose to take upon himself) is to tempt us to commit sin. Why? Because transgressing God's laws hinders us from returning to His presence. And that's what the devil wants. He doesn't want us to be exalted and be with God. He wants us to be damned and be miserable like him.

If a person commits a crime or a corrupt official steals money, it's not the devil who committed the crime or stole the money. It's the person. The devil only tempted, seduced, and enticed that person to commit such an act, but it is still the person's choice of whether to do it or not. We have all been given one thing that the devil can't take away, and that is our freedom to choose.

A person may make a scapegoat out of the idea that 'the devil made him do it' but that's so lame! Who's he kidding?

God and the devil's existence is a truth. And that truth will never change. It is very very dangerous to think and to believe that the devil does not exist - which is also his greatest trick to convince the world that he doesn't exist - because if so, then we would think that God doesn't exist. There was no Lucifer who tempted Jesus Christ in the desert, there was no serpent who tempted Adam and Eve, and the former glorified angel Lucifer that Isaiah talked about was not true - therefore the Old and New Testament must have been not true or a myth or fiction and then eventually God is not true.

I know this place is full of people with lots of ideas and opinions. But I would encourage you guys to please, before you conclude in yourself that there is no God and that God is a myth or an invention out of necessity, etc... hinunaa usa ug maayo and PRAY. Ask God if He really does exist. It is plain and simple as that. That's the only way to know if He really does exist. He can answer you through a 'still and small voice' in your heart. And you will know it and can never deny it, because your whole soul will know it.

There's no need for logic or scholarly explanations to prove to yourself that He exists. Just ask Him.
