obviously, they took advantage.... for me, cost per piece including installation would play around 15k only....

I saw almost the same lamp posts in Pasig, Manila. Its really impossible for each to cost 90 thousand, not even 50 thousand.

Kentabs should should know better- he once worked as Project engineer and deals with contractors.

AN EXASPERATED chief of the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas yesterday warned all respondents in the cases the office filed or re-filed over the Asean Summit lamppost purchase not to mislead the public by false information.

Deputy Ombudsman Pelagio Apostol said that while his office has refrained from discussing the cases on the merits in observance to the sub judice rule, one of the respondents recently said that the case against him has been dropped.

“Four cases were sent to us for re-investigation and four cases were sent back to the Sandiganbayan for re-filing. Tell me, what case did we drop?” Apostol said in an interview yesterday.

He explained that the “supplemental resolutions” his office issued as a result of their re-investigation merely “discussed in detail” what the resolution of the investigating panel that originally recommended the filing of charges already found.
