i don't like how jessica soho always glorify us filipinos or anything filipino.. she always goes "ang galing talaga ng mga pinoy", "tinitingala ang mga pinoy sa buong mundo", "kinabibiliban tayong mga pinoy".. not that it's bad but it's like cultivating false pride among the masses,she could have done it at least in a more realistic level i guess?..cuz it's bad for us thnking were so awesome only to find out were not..

Jessica Soho’s documentary feature “Kidneys for Sale” and “Kamao” (Fist) were among the three news stories that won GMA 7 and the Philippines its first George Foster Peabody Award for Investigative Journalism. The Peabody award is the equivalent of the Pulitzer award in print journalism. The following is the complete list of awards Soho has won during her 22-year stint in the industry:

George Foster Peabody Award for Investigative Journalism.

New York Film and Television Festival for Coverage of a Breaking Story. Soho’s coverage of a hostage crisis in Cagayan Valley in Northern Philippines won the bronze in the festival. She is the first Filipino to have won this award and in the news category. She has also been a consistent finalist in this same festival since.

British Fleet Journalism Award, Jessica Soho, 1998

Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Grand Prize Winner. “Kape at Balita,” hosted by Soho for both radio and TV won this award in Kyoto, Japan, for coverage of a breaking story.

Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) Award. Soho won this award in 1993. This is usually given to the best and brightest Filipinos in various fields.

1991 New York Festivals Bronze Medal Best Breaking News Jessica Soho

TV Journalist of the Year given by the prestigious Rotary Club of Manila. Soho won this award for two consecutive years: 1989 and 1990.

Korina Sanchez awards:

Sanchez has received numerous awards from various award-giving bodies for television, including the Gawad CCP para sa Telebisyon, Community Outstanding Young Achievers Awards, Catholic Mass Media Awards, KBP Golden Dove Awards, PMPC Star Awards for Best Female Newscaster which she shared with almost a decade winner and industry pillar Mel Tiangco. Her recent awards include Best Newscaster for TV Patrol, Best Talk Show Host for Morning Girls with Kris and Korina, Best Radio Program for Korina sa Umaga, Pipol of the Year 2004, best female newscaster award from UST TV Awards 2005, and Anak TV Seal 2006 favorite Female Personalities.[9] For 2007, Sanchez was awarded as Best Magazine Show host by two award-giving bodies, the Philippine Movie Press Club and the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters ng Pilipinas.[10][11] She was also awarded as one People Asia's Women of Style and Substance.[12] She also ranked number one across all ten female TV personalities in Anak TV Seal's Most Admired Female Personalities for 2007 and 2008.[13][14]

In 2008, Korina Sanchez was given with the highest honor "Ka Doroy Broadcaster of the Year" by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas[15]. During the 2009 New York Festivals, Korina Sanchez was honored with a Silver World Medal for Investigative Report for her expose on substandard food supplements. The female broadcaster revealed that the actual Gluthatione content of whitening products in the Philippine market was way below their supposed content. As a result of this documentary, Lucida DS Glutathione owners threatened to sue Korina Sanchez for libel. The New York Festivals also gave Sanchez a finalist certificate for the category Best News Reporter, while her public affairs program Rated K was also awarded with a finalist certificate.
