The Philippine flag has a sun and three stars. The stars represent the islands of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao while the 8 rays of the sun represents the 8 provinces who valiantly fought against the Spanish regime, namely Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Manila, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Tarlac.

i think those 8 provinces were the "1st" to uprise during the 1896 revolution..

since manila was the MAIN capital of the philippines during the spanish regime in terms of commerce, government, and all, the main focus was on the luzon provinces...anyways, bahala na kng dili ta madungog as a valiant group of filipino people diri sa cebu basta ang pilipinas free and independent lang from tyranny, let's just be happy with wat we have now...at least humble ta....
