yep!! sakto but we cannot deny the fact that still there are schools who keep on accepting unqualified profs/instructors...
What makes it more sad (
for our universities here) is the fact that it only geared toward undergraduate level and primarily function as Teaching Institution WITHOUT EMPHASIZING THE IMPORTANCE OF RESEARCH and DEVELOPMENT especially R&D-oriented curriculum(i.e. science/engg.) look at singapore they have their own brand Creative(Music Player), Indonesia has GT(Gajah Tunggal) tire brand extracted from rubber tree, Taiwan has Acer(computer),nd India's outsourcing industry (aint just a call center) producing Software and etc. thru their research and development.
In reality. Most schools tend to focus on just getting a highest possible passing rate in the board exam((by just teaching theories that will come out in the board exam) and preparing their students to work abroad since our economy "daw" is purely dependent on remittances.paet!!(Reality Bites)
Im a graduate of USC and I think major Universities with heaviest involvement in research( UP/DLSU/ADMU/UST/USC/MSU source
http://www.apecforesight.org/apec_wi...DrEnriquez.doc) its international reputation depends on its research, not it's performance in some silly board exam. Besides,
I doubt if the PRC has any international reputation/credibility to speak of.
I hope one day many Filipinos will understand the true meaning of Research and Development
