mao ni akong mobo = GA-K8VM800M (ver. 2.0)

gamit ako nga HDD ani sauna IDE, pero naguba mn, ngilis ko SATA HDD krn.

di mn madetect kong maginstall ko OS oi, unsaon mn ni? or dili lng jud guro pwd sa SATA ang inani nga mobo? pro naa mn gud cya port pra SATA...ty sa mga repz..

set the hard drive to operate as IDE/ATA mode since your copy of Windows XP doesn't have the AHCI (SATA) drivers slipstreamed.

this option can be found under Integrated Peripherals, look for an option to set SATA operation, it may not be in verbatim but rest assured the option is in there.

this is taken from EP45-UD3R but it may look the same from your end. disable SATA RAID/AHCI mode:

disabling it sets the SATA ports on IDE emulation. it doesn't disable the port but disables the support for these technology. by default, windows xp doesn't support SATA technologies unless i-install nimo ang driver during setup (f6) or slipstreamed ang drivers sa imong Windows reinstallation CD.

glad to help. you might want to learn more about SATA drives para magamit nimo ang untapped technology sa AHCI, NCQ and hot-swapping capability sa imong hard drive and the corresponding SATA port.

i've been trying to install windows xp on a laptop nga hp with windows vista nga pakapin na. sa ako nasabtan sa research nako and sa ako mga experience on trying, i have come to understand nga mag bluescreen jud ang laptop pag install nako sa ako windows xp nga cd installer becoz of the fact nga dili cya ma detect sa sata hardisk sa laptop. i've also tried slipstreaming sata drivers into the installer pero i failed probably becoz i didn't do it properly or maybe there was something wrong with how i did it.

nalibog baya pud ko nga i've been using sata hdds with many desktop pcs unya ma install raman ang windows xp installer bisan wala cya sata drivers included sa cd. karon pa nako nakuha ang answer from reading this thread nga sa desktop pwede diay maka emulate ug IDE ang Sata hdd.

my question is, pwede ba na mahimo sa laptop? or dili jud?

mag depende sa laptop. kung naa IDE emulation, yeah. it may not appear as IDE emulation word for word. usually, ATA mode siya or ATA/RAID
