my advice is to tell the truth. sometimes hr personnel are so keen on doing background checks so they would know eventually and that's a negative on your application. they might think that you are just "over" selling yourself bisan dili kaau ka qualified. but you can say to them nga of course mobalhin lang ko kung higher and better compensation ang i offer sa akoa.

for me the hardest question is "How much is your expected salary?". If your answer is too high for their budget then you're out. if it's too low, they'll be happy to hire you but you will not be satisfied and look for another job once you're inside.
