Lemonhead Evan Dando Sues General Motors :: Music News :: Articles :: Paste
Last week, Lemonheads frontman Evan Dando filed a lawsuit in federal court accusing General Motors of re-recording the band's song, "It's a Shame About Ray," for a marketing campaign. The shame about Dando's lawsuit is that it may be a bit too late. The auto giant recently filed for bankruptcy.
According to BBC, the leader of the lemons is seeking damages and a portion of profits from the Chevrolet and Buick advertisement which ran in 2008.
Meanwhile, the band is readying for the release of its new album, Varshons, on June 23. The record, which boasts of contributions from Anthony Saffery (Cornershop), Kate Moss and Liv Tyler, will feature The Lemons' take on songs by Gram Parsons, Wire, G.G. Allin and Leonard Cohen.
