anyway, para nako nothing's wrong with the church making pronouncements on the issue and calling people to fight pornography and voyeurism.

You are whining again aren't you? Why question the roosters if they moo with the cows when in fact they live in the same farm. You are just satisfying your atheistic idealism with those observations. It's not like the church is up for something related to cash or political position right? It's a move of common sense.
We as Catholics were thought to contemplate deeply when reading the bible, because there are parts of it, that if taken literally and without proper thinking, might end up being used against us or as agents of weakening our faith. And you guys call it absurdity. If you want to attack our church you might as well use something that we are not prone to proper refute from the "catholic pro's". So what if those verses are true... you are the only sect of people(aside from the "others") who takes it literally and use it against us, which is quite lame.
It's called doing what you can do for your country and people suffering under the same government. So what if the church and state are separated? The people who embodies them are the same you can't avoid mixing the two, the separation is a matter of technicality by laws.
If we will tackle the technicality of the laws governing this, wala jud kay mahimo sa imung opinion, it will stay here and rot here. But then out of common sense, you have a point with your observation, but as I have said, the same people who embodies the church are the same people who will suffer those laws passed by the government... the bishops are under the law so they are acting as Filipino Catholics and not as bishops.
Let's call your point, The Ideal Atheistic Government Law (same as Ideal Gas Law, which only exists on laboratories).
Simple ra man unta na. Keep one's religion in one's churches and homes and out of our government
Want to do something? Want to help? Go ahead! I have no problem with that.
But why bring one's religious orientation with it? Pagbackread ra gd. Mao ra na akong nitpick.
I did the back reading, how do you think I managed to dig your posts from the previous page?
How bout you try re-reading my post. I somehow happened to post my idea about your "keep yours to yourself" idea.
Filipinos has religion, the same way you are whining about them, meddling with the government with a religious mindset, as an atheist(please forgive if you are not one) who thinks religion should not be included in the minds of the people when they talk about their government, they are too are thinking about the exact opposite idea. It's completely unavoidable. But still as I mentioned, as Filipinos.
