recycled issue ra man ni ... images are not meant "idols as in scriptures" .. actually they are reminders that other persons, i.e. saints, lived heroic lives and so, we can be encouraged to live our christian lives authentically; they become models of christian living .. we don't bow, and we should not .. but for others manifestation of faith, like holding this or that, help them live authentic christian lives and connects them to the faith they believe in, then who are we to criticize them using our categories? nor even interpret their actions according to our boxed up notions, rather than their own way of religious expression ...

Normal ra ni for people who still needs religion.
Religion is a function of a materialistic person.
Therefore he needs something material to connect his beliefs with.
This is why they need all these saints and crucifix and other religious symbols.
