EVENSTAR: It's really okay as long as kaya sa budget. Dili man malikayan nga people have wants. Peopple buy Bimmers, Audis and Mercs bisag okay raman ang Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, and Honda Accord. If they can afford it without putting a strain on their budget, it's totally fine.

Daghan mana diri.. dili ra sa pinas. More often sa mga itom. They're very lavish and flambouyant with their bling bling and their whips. Pero mo declare ra diay ug bankruptcy `cause they went overboard. They may still be driving their caddies pero they're also living off welfare and food stamps.

Mao nga akong sulti sa akong previous post, if a person has to skip meals for a week (or make other sacrifices) just to save for the things they want (like a pair of high-end slippers) - that's when I think its wrong and they really need to check their priorities. There are far more important things than owning a pair of high-end flip flops .. like, let's say... breakfast.

^^ di pod na malikayan, naa jud mga tawo nga ingon ana.basta makuha lang nila ang gusto nila bisan magsacrifice pa na sila sa ilang kaon basta mapalit lang ang ilang gusto.lahi2x jud ang tawo dili pareha tanan.for me,wala man koy nakitang sayop ana.its their choice nga mag antos sila basta makuha lang nila ang ilang gusto basta makapalit lang.and im not blaming those people.

para nako as long as dili lang mangawat or illegal ang buhaton para lang mapalit ang ilang gusto.wa jud koy problema ana.sacrifice before the price.ako ra nang opinion....PEACE always!

I don't see it that way though.. Mao, lahi lang gyud tag perception bahin aning mga butanga. I guess I am just too practical when it comes to these things. It's just that I've seen this type of scenario happening in a grander scale... and actually, it's one of the main causes on why we're having this global financial crisis. People getting way over their heads on what they can and cannot afford. They buy properties that's way beyond what their income can support.. but just because they can cut around corners just to afford it doesn't really mean that it's okay. Kay ang nahitabo karon - they bought they houses through ARM financing - nag de-value ang property and na igo sila. Now they're already waist deep in debt.. pun-an pa ani nga problema. The value of their house is way less than what they owe on it. People are filing foreclosures left and right - forfeiting on their house and car payments. Banks are getting squeezed and in turn, the economy goes down. People are losing their jobs... more forfeitures and bankruptcies.

I know I'm looking at it at a more grander scale.. but it's really not farfetched. It's still about people spending way beyond their means.. may it be a house.. or a pair of flip flops.

EZRA: naa pod kay point.BUT as ive said, naa pod tawo nga ingon ana kay sa ilang pagtan-aw insakto nag ilang gibuhat.lahi-lahi pod ang point of view sa kada tawo.para nako i rather buy for the expensive one basta nasatisfy lang ako kaugalingon.naa pod jud uban tawo nga di jud mupalit ug mahal kay "tsinelas" ra siya which is sakto pod sila.para nako self-control ra man cguro na.if di jud ka ka-control sa imong needs then kana murag lisod na jud ang imong budget ana.but if paid na imong tanan bills nya extra money na nimo.so pwede naka mo buy ug mahalon na flip-flops.anyway,lisod ni na topic e discuss cos naay different point of view ang kada tawo.

Evenstar: Well as what you've said above... kana ug naay extra sa imong budget diba? Like you, I don't think there's something wrong in that scenario. Preha nako, (I mentioned this a few pages back) I do not compromise with my tennis gear(among some other stuff). I go for the high-end pairs of performance tennis shoes that meets my needs (and wants). I am always satisfied with every purchase holding no regrets at all. But the thing is, I can afford them and I don't have to make sacrfices like skipping lunch for a whole week just to set aside enough cash to get them. That's basically my point.

Pero mao.. lain lain lang gyud ang tan-aw sa mga taw bahin ani nga issue.

    @EZRA

Yes I do have opinions about muslim because I am from Mindanao and grew up side by side with Muslims. I can live peacefully with them because I dont generalize Muslim as how you implicate them. Muslims are just human being Ezra. There are bad Muslims as there are bad Christians. Diha ka maayo, mag generalize. Atleast now I have a clear picture nganong ingon ana imo views. Calling people impractical, itom, against Muslims, you have so much biases.

People are impractical when they live and spend beyond your means.
    Rednecks are close-minded people
Gloria Arroyo's husband is a Crook
    Bush is an idiot
Filipino actors are all about looks and not really all about talent
    Boy Abunda is annoying
Kris Aquino is not as smart as she thinks she is
What is beyond means? Siguro pag mangutang, pero pag mag skip lang sa ug meal, is it beyond ones means? When they are still spending their own money without asking someone for help?

    Rednecks, Filipino actors, hasty generalizations.

Bush is an idiot, did it not occur to you why he is in the office and who placed him there?

    BOy and Kris, so what?

But then again, wa man gud koy kasakit sa kalibutan. Dili ko ingon ana kahimantayon pareho sa imoha sa laing tao. I have been race to respect each and every people regardless of race, gender and religion. Holy? I am not. I am pro RH Bill so I think that eliminate me. hehehehehe. But I always seek to understand others.
