isolate.... disconnect sata cable and press eject... then you can also try another molex connector... if it does the same thing... its most likely lemon! (per comcam)

Workaround: replace good running DVD-RW. I encounter this problem before nya ang issue kay factory defect aron maka claim ka ug warranty sa store nga imong gipalitan.
I already tried interchanging the cables. I used my old DVD-ROM (PATA) on it and it never shuts down when I press the eject button. I even added my old HDD (PATA) on it and it stayed on for several hours. So could this be a factory defect?
99% factory defect. have it exchanged while you still can.
Is LG a good brand for a DVD Rewriter? Can you suggest a good brand of DVD Rewriter? Coz I'm certainly not liking this one.
LG is a good brand, i have LG DVD-R/W. other good brands are pioneer, sony, hp, samsung. just depends how much you want to spend. but they all do the same thing.
try a different SATA/POWER cable first.

it's a good brand too. just depends on what features you want. they're all good. maybe you just got a defective unit. or something wrong with the cables.
It was indeed a defective unit. I had it replaced and it's working fine now. Thanks for all the advises!!!
