We didn't pay any amount. We decided to find the person who stole the bike and have him pay the guy who called me. We found him and he paid but made us sign an agreement that we're not going to file charges. Which was fine with us. Come to think of it, if we went to court, the whole procedure + the fees + the hassle + the stress + the headaches + possible disappointments would cost more than the cost of the bike.
