have you guys ever read Eco's Foucault's Pendulum, when you read it, you'd realize why Brown's material is so passe.

also, you'd realize, that Dan Brown is one of the main character created by Eco himself in that novel, in the end you'd see what happens to characters like Brown.

btw, the movie was bad. the first movie was better.

You must read it. If the obscure sayings are giving you problems dont bother with it. At first it maybe quite heavy, but when youd penetrated the author's style, youd be gliding with the story.

and consider that it was 10 years older than brown's da vinci code, and the idea of magdalene and christ falling inlove et al. was already mentioned in eco's book.

i've read the book AND watched the movie.

big difference between the two. i guess it's hard to squeeze all the details from the book into two hours of pure entertainment.

plus the ending in the book was unrealistic. not surprised that the ending was changed in the movie.
